Stewart Lee’s Comedy Vehicle won Best Programme at the British Comedy Awards a couple weeks ago! This is one of my favourite bits from the second series (where he attempts some observational comedy)

END OF YEAR MEME, WHAT FUN →
HOW TO: open a new text post and type letters a-z into the tags and take your favorite tag it suggests and post it out of context. this only works if you use tags as obsessive conversational add-ons like me, and if your computer saves the tags you’ve used before.
WHAT YOU COME UP WITH SHOULD BE SOME SORT OF REFLECTION OF YOUR CHARACTER. ENJOY.

Oh yes, definitely. The pacing is a lot better and it has a lot of great performances. And the quote: “He is about seven foot tall, a virgin, and built by the same firm that did Stonehenge.”
most excellent. *wanders off to download*

I saw the television series, and I also had trouble matching some names to faces during the movie. I don’t think they did as good a job making it into a movie as they should have, it seemed like exposition->significant glances->repeat.
hmm, do you recommend the TV series? I’m thinking that a...

it was pretty good! I was unbearably baffled for about the first half of the film though, mostly because I am terrible at a) matching names and faces of characters, and b) reading facial expressions.

Today I heard that Katy Perry song where she mentions “making out to Radiohead.”

Interviewer: And so you've been playing as Radiohead for how long?
Jonny: 3 years. But we've been writing and rehearsing for about five or six years.
Interviewer: Did you have names before Radiohead?
Jonny: Oh, yes. We had a whole gamut.
Thom: A gamut?
Jonny: A plethora. Many, many names.
Interviewer: Do any come to mind?
Jonny: Most of them are awful.
Interviewer: Any good one that you can share with us?
Jonny: Music is my favourite.
Interviewer: What?
Jonny: Music.
Thom: We were gonna be called Music.
Interviewer: Just 'Music'?
Jonny: That was my idea. With the Greek 'µ' as the first letter, that was extremely pretentious.
